Maddox takes on the Milo Manara Spider-Woman variant cover

First of all I’d imagine there’s a fair few of you out there wondering what on earth the Milo Manara Spider-Woman variant cover is and why it needs to be ‘taken on’ by anyone in the first place. Well, Milo Manara is a famous and critically renowned Italian artist who recently provided a variant cover for the upcoming Spider-Woman solo title.

The cover created a massive amount of controversy leading to an artistic critique of the cover fixing the over sexualisation a hilarious parody putting Spider-Man in the same position. The resulting storm of media coverage led Marvel executive Tom Brevoort and Milo Manara himself to offer a defense.

Now that we’re all caught up in that regard I bet you’re all now thinking to yourselves ‘that’s all well and good, but who the hell is Maddox’. Well, Maddox is an internet personality behind popular Youtube video channel ‘The Best Show in the Universe’ in which Maddox himself offers satirical rants about certain subjects. His latest video taking on the Spider-Woman variant cover issue.

Whilst raising several valid points, I can’t help but feel that Maddox is missing the mark slightly and missing the real cause of the anger behind this variant. What do you guys think ?
