Spider-Man Unlimited Spidey-Energy glitch
By Daniel Wood
Spider-Man Unlimited is out now and it has a launch trailer and everything!. You may have noticed this because of the sheer number of articles I’m publishing about it (and shamelessly linking to now). After all it does boast the largest amount of playable Spider-Men there’s ever been in a video game, with fourteen Spider-Men confirmed so far. To be honest I’ve been having a blast playing it and you can see my review of Spider-Man Unlimited here and Whatever a Spider Can’s top five tips and tricks for Spider-Man Unlimited here.
However one of the things that seems to be consistent in every review and criticised in every corner of the internet is the game’s rather ironic decision to physically limit Spider-Man Unlimited with a stamina system called Spidey Energy. Every time you run it costs you one Spidey Energy, which is capped at five, meaning you can only play five times in a row before you need to wait for your Spidey Energy to replenish. It takes ten minutes per one Spidey Energy meaning it’s almost an hour before your ‘stamina’ is full again.
Now I think we can all agree that this is frustrating, having to wait for ten minutes to have another go at running through a bonkers obstacle course as Spider-Man. But imagine if the wait was as long as it is for this particular Reddit user who posted evidence of a Spidey Energy glitch that occurred on his Spider-Man Unlimited game.
Yes that’s right folks, the timer for the next Spidey Energy actually says 20 hours!!! And we all thought that we had it bad, ten minutes doesn’t even scratch the surface. It’s worth noting that this hasn’t been confirmed yet and it may just be some clever photoshopping to poke fun at the irritating wait. Who knows!
