Spoiler-Free Reaction 

I have to admit, I have never heard of G.I. Zombie until today.  I was pleasantly surprised by the story and the retro art that was presented.  With high-stakes storytelling and an ironic protagonist, I found this issue to be quite cinematic.  I won’t spoil anything for the reader, but the last panel is quite fun.  Thought not an essential read, you should still pick it up and give it a whirl.  You won’t be sorry.

Spoilerific Plot Points

  • An antidote has been developed and Carmen, G.I. Zombie’s partner, is cured.
  • To disperse the antidote in Gotham City, they use crop duster planes.
  • G.I. Zombie decapitates Gravedigger, but it doesn’t kill him.  G.I. Zombie promises to “reassemble” him for his trial.
  • No current tie-in with Futures End.
