Official Synopsis

Spoiler-Free Reaction 

Charles Soule proved to be another lifesaver for Futures End.  With a clear plot and goal, the reader is immediately drawn into Guy Gardner’s noble effort to contain the red rings.  Since this didn’t tie into any current Futures End story, this issue would’ve been great had it connected with the other Lantern one-shots for this September Event.

Spoilerific Plot Points

  • Guy Gardner is able to wield the blue ring because he uses a necklace of other rings (yellow, purple, blue, green, and red) and what runs through them — hope.
  • Guy Gardner is able to purge the red rings from Rankorr, but all the red rings are absorbed by Bleez.
  • Guy Garnder then tells Bleez the future he saw — one without red rings.  The red rings are immediately purged from Bleez.  Rankorr and Bleez are once again united.
  • No current tie-in to Futures End.
