The New 52: Futures End – September Event – Week 4
By Steve Lam
Sinestro: Futures End #1
Writer: Cullen Bunn / Artist: Ruy Jose / Cover: Kevin Nowlan
Official Synopsis
Sinestro has been imprisoned by a powerful new intergalactic force with ideals based on a twisted version of his own code!
Spoiler-Free Reaction
An issue that keeps the reader interested by having an escape plan slowly doled out by Sinestro. The ending may change some aspects of the Lantern universe in terms of battles and enemies, but I don’t see it heavily influencing the rest of the DC universe. The art is impressive during large action panels, and serves its purpose in pushing the story forward.
Spoilerific Plot Points
- Sinestro steals parts off of the robotic guards and constructs a rudimentary yellow ring for him and a few other inmates. They use these to break out of prison.
- With his energy exhausted from raising Lyssa, Sinestro kills the other inmates and take their rings.
- On New Korugar, Sinestro becomes a Black Lantern and creates the new Sinestro Corps.
- No current tie-in to Futures End.
