Quicksilver Will Be In X-Men: Apocalypse — And Maybe His Own Fox Film
By Nick Tylwalk
For a super hero most of the general public might not have known prior to this year, Quicksilver is going to just keep getting to be more and more of a household name. He’s already been in one fantastic sequence during X-Men: Days of Future Past, he’ll be featured prominently in Avengers: Age of Ultron next spring, and Fox has more plans for him for 2016 and beyond.

Brian Smrz, the second unit director for Bryan Singer on Days of Future Past — and the man who did “a lot” of Quicksilver’s showstopping kitchen scene — told Newsarama that the speedy mutant will definitely feature in the next X-Men outing, X-Men: Apocalypse:
"Well, there will be another Quicksilver scene, which I’m looking forward to; that’ll be fun."
Yes, yes it will. But the even more interesting Pietro-related quote came later:
"We talked about Quicksilver before, I’d love to do a Quicksilver as a solo film because there’s a lot to enjoy with that character."
Aside from the inevitable reboot of the X-Men franchise, the best way for Fox to get more mileage out of its rights to Marvel’s mutant heroes would be to do more solo movies, something it hasn’t tried outside of Wolverine. A number of possibilities come to mind before Quicksilver, but fans did eat up that scene earlier this year, and if he strikes a similar chord in X-Men: Apocalypse, why not?
I’m sure it’ll only be a little confusing as to why the same character is also in Marvel’s Avengers movies …
