First Look: Three Fan Favorites On A Desperate Mission In Scarlet Spiders #1
By Nick Tylwalk
As you might expect, there are new books spinning out of Spider-Verse. Each one has its own flavor, and in the case of Scarlet Spiders, it sounds like it’s going to be a special ops mission behind enemy lines.

Still, these are no ordinary enemy lines, but other dimensions we’re talking about here, and the foes are Morlun’s family, which has vowed to wipe out every spider-powered character in the multiverse. It’s hard to think of higher stakes than that, which is why Kaine, Ben Reilly and Ultimate Jessica Drew must succeed — or else!
Scarlet Spiders #1 shows the beginning of their mission as depicted by writer Mike Costa and artist Paco Diaz. It begins with the Spiders discovering a technological secret that helps make the Morlun family so powerful, followed by a determination that they need to do whatever it takes to shut it down.
Oh, and one of them isn’t going to make it back alive.
Check out some of Diaz’s pages below, plus a variant cover by longtime Spider-artist Mark Bagley, and get ready for Scarlet Spiders #1 to swing into action in stores and on digital on November 19.
