Avengers Vs. X-Men Goes Comedy In Latest Marvel Summer 2015 Teaser
By Nick Tylwalk
A bunch of Marvel’s Summer 2015 event teasers have seemed a little tongue in cheek, but today brings us the first one that is played strictly for laughs.
It’s one of Marvel’s biggest events, Avengers vs. X-Men, but reinterpreted in humorous fashion by the great Skottie Young. It’s got a wisecracking Deadpool, a sheepish Hulk and a pouting Medusa, among other things, and Wolverine sure thinks the whole thing is a hoot:
Interestingly, for an AvX promo, there sure aren’t a lot of X-Men. It’s really just Storm and Wolverine, both of whom were also Avengers at the time of the original series. Plus Black Bolt and Medusa are present, and they aren’t on either team.
So … is this some kind of meta-commentary by Marvel on the theory that the company intends to use the Inhumans to replace the X-Men since they own the movie rights to the former but not the latter? And where does this fit with previous teasers that are more serious in tone, like the one for Old Man Logan?
Man, Secret Wars is going to be crazy.
