Who Is Daniel Bruhl Playing In Captain America: Civil War?
By Nick Tylwalk
There can’t be much more interesting casting than getting an actor to play a villain in a movie that doesn’t have a villain, but that’s exactly what seems to have happened with Daniel Bruhl in Captain America: Civil War.

To be fair, there were some villains in the comic book series the movie takes its name from, but The Hollywood Reporter was correct in pointing out that none of them were behind the conflict in Marvel’s 2006 event while reporting that Bruhl has joined the cast. Marvel’s official announcement says nothing about who Bruhl will play, so this immediately becomes an intriguing mystery.
Could he be Nitro, the villain whose explosion in Stamford sets the wheels into motion on the Superhuman Registration Act in the comics? Or might he simply be an opportunistic bad guy looking to take advantage of the fact that the heroes are squabbling among themselves?
We’ve got plenty of time to speculate about where the Inglorious Basterds and Rush actor fits in, as Captain America: Civil War isn’t due in theaters until May 6, 2016.
