The Lego Batman Movie Will Celebrate The Dark Knight’s Entire Catalogue
By Nick Tylwalk
Any day with an Office Space reference in a headline is a good day. In this case, we’re talking about the fact that few comic book characters have had quite as many different and varied interpretations as Batman. So which one will be represented in The Lego Batman Movie?

According to producer Chris Miller, who helped rocket the minifig version of the Dark Knight voiced by Will Arnett in The Lego Movie, it could be any of them — or all of them.
Miller told Empire’s Empire Film Podcast that no version of Batman will be overlooked when it comes to this unique take on Gotham City’s nocturnal protector:
"Rest assured that every era of Batman filmmaking will be acknowledged. there have been so many interpretations of Batman and there is so much to play with there. There are 40 versions of his origin story alone."
That might be an exaggeration of the number of times we’ve seen Bruce Wayne’s origin, but since it appears we’ll be seeing another one in Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice, it’s a slight one at most. In any case, with Arnett back in the fold, whatever adventures await this tiny Batman should be funny ones.
The Lego Batman Movie is headed to theaters in 2017, with an exact date yet to be announced.
