First Look: Go Nuts In Unbeatable Squirrel Girl #1
By Nick Tylwalk
Squirrel Girl is sort of Marvel’s answer to a pro wrestler whose gimmick is getting written to continually beat people and never lose. Think WCW-era Goldberg except female, funnier and with mutant squirrel powers. Except instead of crushing jobbers, she’s actually beaten Dr. Doom (possibly a robot duplicate), Deadpool and Thanos (though he says it was a clone).

She’s also ready for the big time, meaning Unbeatable Squirrel Girl #1, coming our way on January 7. Written by Ryan North and illustrated by Erica Henderson, this debut issue will see Squirrel Girl tackling a foe even she’s not sure she can beat: college. Hilarity ensues, no doubt, plus she’ll still be fighting crime.
We’ve got a first look at some fully lettered and some unlettered pages from issue #1, which totally appears to have her facing Kraven the Hunter. I thought that guy was dead. or is he back alive now? Anyway, he’s bound to find that Squirrel Girl isn’t the easiest prey around.
Enjoy the preview, and look for Unbeatable Squirrel Girl #1 in stores or on digital on the first New Comic Book Day of 2015.
