Justice League: Throne of Atlantis will release January 27th on DVD and Blu-ray. If you want access to it a little earlier, Justice League: Throne of Atlantis will also be available for digital purchase starting January 13th. The movie is a definitely focused on Aquaman, which makes sense given the title, but no doubt Batman (voiced by Jason O’Mara, who has voiced the Caped Crusader several times in animated features) will figure prominently as not only is he a key member of the league, but is featured on the cover. Here’s the synopsis for Justice League: Throne of Atlantis:
"In Justice League: Throne of Atlantis, Cyborg discovers an imminent threat in the depths of the oceans so powerful that it rallies together the newly formed Justice League. Meanwhile, wandering thousands of feet above the ocean floor is drifter Arthur Curry, a man with strange powers who may be the last chance to bridge the ancient Atlantean world with our own. Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman and the rest of the Justice League must band together as they face off against warmongering Orm, an army of sea creatures, otherworldly weapons and perilous odds. In this all-new epic adventure from the DC Universe, mankind’s only hope of escaping from the darkness lies with the guiding light of a man – Aquaman!"
Also of great interest to us at Caped Crusades is one of the special features listed, which is a look at their next animated film, Batman vs. Robin, which is an original story that will feature The Court of Owls directed by Bruce Timm. Sounds incredibly cool. We’ll be sure to check out and review Justice League: Throne of Atlantis when it comes out in January, so keep your eyes peeled for that.
