Jason Momoa Says His Aquaman Contract Is For Four FIlms
By Nick Tylwalk
Aquaman turned out to be a pretty valuable film franchise on the show Entourage, even if Vincent Chase decided to bail on the sequel and let Jake Gyllenhall take over. In real life, Jason Momoa seems like he’ll be the only one playing Aquaman any time soon, as he revealed during a convention panel this weekend that he’s signed on for multiple movies.

Reports from the convention state that Momoa claims he is signed for four films. That doesn’t mean that Aquaman is going to spin off into his own solo franchise, though Warner Bros. and DC would probably be overjoyed if he proved popular enough to warrant that treatment. Instead, it’s likely the contract is similar to the ones that govern the stars of Marvel movies, so any of the actor’s appearances in other super hero movies count as well.
We already know that Momoa will make an appearance in Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice. Warner also already announced a two-part Justice League movie for 2017 and 2019, which gets us to three films already. Add in the Aquaman solo flick for 2018 and bam, four movies.
Thus, this can be filed away under “interesting but not surprising.” We’re going from never seeing Aquaman at all on the big screen to seeing him four times in four years. Eat your heart out James Cameron!
