Marvel gave fans looking forward to Ant-Man something to chew on during the Agent Carter premiere, unveiling the first full-length teaser for the upcoming movie starring Paul Rudd as Lang and Michael Douglas as Pym. While it doesn’t give away too many plot points — it is just a teaser, after all — it does a good job emphasizing some important aspects of the dynamic between the characters: Pym as the creator of the technology, looking for someone to take over for him, and Lang as a man in need of redemption.
Also featured is Lang’s daughter, Cassie, and making the world a better place for the next generation is a big part of Pym’s pitch to Lang. We also see some of the humor we know is going to be part of any Marvel Cinematic Universe entry, with Rudd seeming less than impressed with the offer he’s made.
There’s also Hank saying in all earnestness that he needs Scott to be the Ant-Man and getting a question about whether it’s too late to change the name.
Some things, including a look at Yellowjacket (though we see Corey Stoll out of costume as Darren Cross, aren’t in the teaser, but those will come in later trailers. And since Marvel was nice enough to release it to the internet right after it aired on TV, you can see it right here.
Ant-Man buzzes into theaters everywhere on July 17.
