First we have returning for Batman vs. Robin Jason O’mara as Batman/Bruce Wayne, Stuart Allan as Robin/Damian, Sean Maher as Nightwing, and David McCallum as Alfred, who have all voiced these characters previously.
The interesting casting is with some of the other members of the cast. Firstly, we have Weird Al as the Dollmaker. Yes, you read that right, WEIRD AL. The musician. Weird Al, one of the nicest and most harmless guys in the universe is playing a Batman villain. And given the storyline and the darker direction of DC animated films lately, this is not a comedic role. We’ll have to see what Weird Al brings to the role.
And in a possibly very meta move, Kevin Conroy, the defining voice of Batman for many, is playing Thomas Wayne, Bruce Wayne’s father. This may be a not so subtle way of saying that Jason Omara is officially the new Batman when it comes to animated films. Batman vs. Robin is due out sometime in 2015, but we don’t have a solid release date as of yet. We’ll keep you updated on news for Batman vs. Robin and of course all things Batman!
