Report: Tom Hardy Out of Suicide Squad
By Nick Tylwalk
Maybe one DC super hero movie franchise was enough for Tom Hardy.

The man who played Bane in The Dark Knight Rises was also supposed to be a big part of Warner Bros.’ upcoming Suicide Squad, but that’s no longer the case. The Hollywood Reporter broke the news earlier today that Hardy is out, citing scheduling difficulties as a potential reason.
Suicide Squad still has plenty of star power, including Will Smith as Deadshot, Jared Leto as the Joker and Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn. But Hardy has a healthy fan following in his own right, and early reaction around the internet indicates that the 37-year old English actor will be missed.
Now the question turns to who might step into the role of Rick Flag Jr., one that’s probably too important to do without. In the comics, Flag is a government operative who reluctantly becomes the field leader of the Squad, and one of few members not to be a super-powered criminal of some sort. That means the part almost certainly needs to be recast instead of being written out.
Will Warner go after another fairly big name, or are there enough bankable stars still left in the cast that it can go with someone less known to step in for Hardy? It should be intriguing to see which direction the project takes.
Sucide Squad is slated to start filming in April under director David Ayer in preparation for its August 5, 2016 release.
