All-New, All-Different Avengers Coming In May
By Nick Tylwalk
Some of Marvel’s teaser images need some discussion or interpretation. Others are pretty self-explanatory. This is one of the others:
It’s not a surprise, given that both Avengers and New Avengers are ending in April. Nor is it really a shock that Marvel would have the Avengers right back at it, given that they’re the company’s premier super hero team and just happen to have their second movie coming out at the beginning of May.
But this does raise a few questions, such as:
- Is this new series going to replace both titles that are ending? Or is there going to be an All-New, All-Different New Avengers? Because that would get a little redundant.
- Given the size of the roster Jonathan Hickman used during his run (something I personally loved, for what it’s worth), is it even possible to have an “All-Different” Avengers team? Darn near every Marvel hero has been an Avenger already.
- Does this mean we know what the next Marvel NOW! initiative is going to be called? We had Marvel NOW! and All-New Marvel NOW!, so perhaps All-New, All-Different Marvel NOW! is in the cards during or after Secret Wars. I’m kidding here … mostly.
The safe guess here is that there’s more to follow about this one, including some of the answers to my questions and further details. You know, little things like who’s going to write and draw it.
