Okay sorry, I couldn’t resist. I thought that if I recited the names like Zatanna, I could conjure the movie into reality. The supposed cast of characters are …
- John Constantine
- Zatanna
- Boston Brand / Deadman
- Jason Blood
This information was relayed from a tweet by Latino-Review’s Umberto Gonzalez, a.k.a. El Mayimbe:
The rumor doesn’t going into anything about greenlighting the project. As far as we know, it’s still pending approval from the movers and shakers at WB/DC. Del Toro has gone on record stating that he’s very interested in at least introducing a team that includes Constantine, Zatanna, and Deadman. Even before the premiere of NBC’s Constantine, fans have been speculating if the television show might be part of the DC universe of movies. Geoff Johns quashed those rumors when he explicitly said that the cinematic and TV universes will remain separate. Aside from that, it’s also questionable if Justice League Dark would even have a tie-in to the cinematic universe that started with 2013’s Man of Steel and will continue in 2016’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.
This news should definitely be taken with a huge grain of salt. To note, some major characters are also missing in this list: Swamp Thing and the Spectre. Who knows, maybe those two characters are so large that they deserve their own solo film before being introduced into the team.
