It’s pretty safe to say that even with the star-studded cast involved, director Joss Whedon is a star in his own right when it comes to the adventures of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes on the big screen. He earned the trust of comic fans with The Avengers, and now Marvel has released some new images of him on Marvel.com as he calls the shots on Avengers: Age of Ultron.
Here, Jeremy Renner appears to be paying close attention as Hawkeye while Whedon points something out to him:
Marvel mentions that Black Widow is going to be trying a calmer approach to stopping a rampaging Hulk than Tony Stark’s Hulkbuster Iron Man armor. Whedon has some advice for Scarlett Johansson in this pic:
Marvel also included some non-Whedon stills, like the one of Captain America and Thor up above, possibly as a mea culpa for our super hero-free Super Bowl on Sunday. Its all good, though, as fans are getting whipped into a frenzy by almost anything the company releases as we get closer to the movie’s release.
Happily, that’s now less than three months away. Avengers: Age of Ultron blasts into theaters on May 1.
