Deadpool Messes With A Classic In Deadpool’s Secret Secret Wars

The original Secret Wars had a lot of memorable moments. Spider-Man getting his black costume. The Human Torch taking down Ultron with the full force of his Nova Flame. The Hulk holding up an entire mountain range. And, of course, Deadpool intervening all over the place. Wait … what?

If you don’t remember Deadpool being present for Marvel’s first big event, there’s a good reason for that: he hadn’t been created yet. Still, that’s not going to stop Cullen Bunn and Matteo Lolli from inserting the Merc with the Mouth right into the action in Deadpool’s Secret Secret Wars, a title that will be one of the Warzones! tie-ins for the new Secret Wars. Got all that?
Bunn said that he’s had the idea for this book for a while, but the opportunity to tinker with a classic only came about now. Alas, it sounds like Deadpool might have a small problem just getting people to recognize him.
“When Deadpool introduces himself to the other heroes, most of them have no idea who he is,” Bunn said to Marvel.com. “At least, most of them are unwilling to admit that they know him! As the battle between good and evil commences, Deadpool gets plenty of opportunities to annoy the hell out of every major hero and villain in the Marvel Universe before the festivities are done!”
That sounds like a whole lot of fun. There’s also this, which appears to be a really awesome variant cover and not an actual action figure. Just know that I would buy the heck out of it if it was:
No release date was given for Deadpool’s Secret Secret Wars, so expect more info on it as the new Secret Wars gets closer.
