All-New Hawkeye #1 is on the way in less than a month, and it stars both the Avenging Archer and the … Does Kate even have a catchy nickname? Anyway, Clint and Kate are back fighting side by side under the guidance of writer Jeff Lemire and artist Ramon Perez.
Yes, like you, I will miss Matt Fraction and David Aja, just as I shed tears when they left The Immortal Iron Fist. Still, if you check out the preview pages below, you’ll see that Perez has a style that is in the same ballpark as Aja, and Lemire will no doubt be bringing his ‘A’ game to his first Marvel series.
He’s also very conscious of the dynamic between the two Hawkeyes and what it brings to the table.
“To me, Kate is an equal to Clint in terms of who the ‘star’ of the book is,” Lemire said in an interview with Marvel.com. “It’s equal billing. It will be as much Kate’s story as it is Clint’s. The threat they’ll be facing is very much something new. And it’s not strictly a big bombastic super-villain-y kind of thing. It’s something that hits them both on a much more personal level.”
