IDW To Continue Publishing Transformers, Other Hasbro Comics
By Nick Tylwalk
What’s that saying about how if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it? That must be the way Hasbro and IDW Publishing feel about each other as they finish up a decade of working together.

The two companies sent out a press release earlier today announcing that an agreement had been reached to extend their partnership, meaning IDW will continue to publish all kinds of comics featuring Hasbro properties going forward. Most notable among these are Transformers and G.I. Joe, but IDW also does My Little Pony, Littlest Pet Shop and Dungeons & Dragons comics as well. Next month, they’ll be joined by a series that’s sure to be truly outrageous (sorry, sorry!), Jem & the Holograms.
The extension is said to cover “most licenses and formats” going forward, while the release specifically named comics, trade paperbacks, hardcovers, micro comic fun packs and IDW Limited collections as things fans can expect to continue.
“At this point, I almost feel I’ve run out of superlatives for Hasbro,” IDW CEO & Publisher Ted Adams said in the press release. “They remain an absolutely fantastic collaborator on every level,” “After ten years in business together, it’s clear what a huge part of our success Hasbro has been, and what an appropriate time this is to solidify our relationship well into the future.”
