Told Ya: ‘Batman Unlimited’ Trailer is Here!
By Skip Harvey
A few months ago we brought you a report about the possibility of a new Batman animated series. This image popped up at a licensing show not too long ago and there was debate as to what it hinting at:
This was the same logo and branding as a series of Batman toys geared toward kids. Since there hadn’t been a Batman cartoon on TV since Beware the Bat got canned, we presupposed that this might be the precursor to something new in that arena. Turns out we were right.
DC and WB has just released a trailer for Batman Unlimited: Animal Insticts! Check it out:
"When Gotham City is plagued by a slew of bizarre crimes committed by the animal-inspired villain squad, known as the Animilitia — made up of Silverback, Cheetah, Killer Croc and Man-Bat — Batman must swing into action to investigate. These animalistic villains bring new and exciting challenges for Batman, who must find a way to bring these criminal creatures to justice! But could the Animilitia be working for powerful businessman Oswald Cobblepot a.k.a. The Penguin? In the end, it’ll take the combined forces of Batman, Flash, Green Arrow, Nightwing and Red Robin to fight off these Animal Instincts.Batman Unlimited: Animal Instincts is set to debut on Blu-ray, DVD and Digital HD on May 12."

It’s an odd assortment of characters, but I’ll always give it a shot. I wish, however, they’d just bite the bullet and let Bruce Timm/Paul Dini just work their magic with Batman for the rest of time.
