First Look: The Architect Of The Incursions Revealed In New Avengers #31
By Nick Tylwalk
All along, Reed Richards has been firm in his conviction that the Incursions threatening not just the Marvel Universe, but all the other universes in the multiverse, had an architect, someone or something hatening the premature destruction of everything. That belief is what galvanized the Illuminati into action to prevent the end of all that is. In New Avengers #31, we’ll finally find out who started these cosmic dominoes in motion.

Black Swan has called him Rabum Alal, the Great Destroyer. Is he, or it, someone we already know? That’s what writer Jonathan Hickman and artist Kev Walker will reveal in March. Here’s what Marvel is saying about this issue, which brings the “Time Runs Out” arc closer to its inevitable conclusion:
"The Avengers and the Illuminati race against the clock to halt the death of their universe, yet the source of the Incursions remains a mystery. But not for long! Another signpost on the road to Secret Wars has been planted and you do not want to miss this issue! At long last, Rabul Alal’s identity and the origin of the Incursions revealed in March’s NEW AVENGERS #31!"
Often, maybe even the majority of the time, the “you do not want to miss this issue” bit is just marketing hype from the publisher. This time, it probably fits, esepcially if you’ve been following Hickman’s sprawling epic or have any interest at all in Secret Wars.
Get a first look at some of Walker’s work below, as well as the Women of Marvel variant cover by Laura Braga. And yes, try not to miss New Avengers #31 when it hits stores and digital on March 11.
