"With Suicide Squad, we just started on that. I think I haven’t explored the psychology enough of Deadshot, somebody who could take money to kill people; how he justifies that for himself. So, I still have a little bit of work to do on that, but in my life in general and in my career, those are the type of roles that I’m pushing more towards; those kinds of questions"
It sounds like Smith hasn’t done a whole lot of prepping just yet to get into the character of Deadshot frankly, but he’s got time as the film doesn’t start shooting until April. Deadshot is certainly a very different role from what Will Smith usually plays, but he does sound like he’s very game for the challenge it represents and is taking the role seriously. We’ll see how he does when Suicide Squad opens in theaters August 5th, 2016.
