Lesley Gore is most famous for her song “It’s My Party”, which she released at the young age of 16 in 1963. She was no one-hit wonder though, releasing several other hit songs such as You Don’t Own Me,” “Judy’s Turn to Cry,” and “Sunshine, Lollipops, and Rainbows”. But she also had a couple of guest spots on the 1960s Batman TV show that starred Adam West and Burt Ward. Lesley Gore played a sidekick to Catwoman called Pussycat, appearing in the episodes “That Darn Catwoman” and “Scat! Darn Catwoman”. Here is a clip of her performing “Califonia Nights” for some of Catwoman’s henchman:
We here at Caped Crusades would like to express our deepest condolences to Lesley Gore’s friends & family.
