Love In Battleword In Star-Lord And Kitty Pryde #1
By Nick Tylwalk
If there was a yearbook for the Marvel Universe, Star-Lord and Kitty Pryde would probably get voted “Cutest Couple.” Wait, they still have yearbooks, right?

Their budding relationship is currently undergoing a bit of strain in The Black Vortex crossover, but I don’t think I’m alone in hoping that it comes out okay on the other side. After that? Well, the looming end of everything in Secret Wars could put a little damper on things.
Then again, maybe not, as Marvel has announced Star-Lord and Kitty Pryde #1, the first issue in a new series by regular Star-Lord writer Sam Humphries and artist Alti Firmansyah. The thing is, these might not exactly be the super heroes you’re expecting, particularly since the Kitty involved is from the “Age of Apocalypse” timeline.
“Star-Lord and Kitty Pryde is an action romantic comedy,” Humphries said in an interview with Marvel.com. “It is the emotional and spiritual continuation of the great Peter Quill/Kitty Pryde romance that has been developing in Legendary Star-Lord. It’s going to be funny, and fun – but also heartbreaking and thrilling.”
Can love and romance survive on Battleworld? One thing’s for sure: if the answer is “yes,” there’s no real excuse for it not to blossom anywhere! Star-Lord and Kitty Pryde #1 goes on sale this June, in the second month of Secret Wars craziness.
