Miles Morales’ comic debut free on Comixology
By Daniel Wood
If you’re a casual Spider-Man fan you’ll most likely be confused about the name ‘Miles Morales’ being tossed around in contention for Marvel’s Spider-Man film. You’ll probably be confused that there is another Spider-Man than Peter Parker and you’ll be wondering what all of the fuss is about!
Miles Morales is the Ultimate Comics Spider-Man, an alternative universe to the mainstream Marvel titles where the writers had a bit more of a free reign to do things differently! Peter Parker was in the Ultimate Universe too but he was killed off, meaning that a young, black, Hispanic teenager took over the reigns of Spider-Man!

Miles comes with his own backstory, and individual challenges and in the last four years has really grown as a character and is now, rightfully, starting to get some mainstream media attention. He was in the recent Disney animated series Ultimate Spider-Man: Web Warriors voiced by Donald Glover and Marvel Comics seem to be gearing towards making Miles Morales more of a significant fixture. It’s for this reason that the character is now even being considered to front a Spider-Man movie.
Luckily for you guys who still aren’t sure what I’m talking about Miles Morales’ debut comic appearance is now available on comic book website Comixology for free. Meaning that you can meet and get introduced to Miles Morales and it’ll cost you absolutely nothing. So head on over Comixology and see for yourself what all the fuss is about.
