The popular cover artist and creator behind the Rocket Raccoon ongoing series is bringing his unique sensibilities to Battleworld with Giant-Size Little Marvel: AVX #1. While you’ve seen the Avengers and X-Men do battle with each other in the past, you’ve never seen them scrap at quite this size before. As Marvel puts it, “Featuring the likes of Cyclops, Hawkeye, Magik, Black Widow, Wolverine, Captain America and many, many more. They’re all here – just shorter!”
“I just like the idea of these two groups being at odds with each other at all times,” Young said in an interview with Marvel.com. “It’s like when you and your friends had a club house and your rivals had one a few streets over. It’s all about who’s crew is the best, except the kids in my story shoot eye lasers and can summon demons from Limbo.”
Wait Skottie, you mean the neighborhood kids around you growing up didn’t have super powers? You must have had a deprived childhood …
Just kidding, as far as you know. Look for a seriously humorous battle between Marvel’s two greatest super-teams in Giant-Size Little Marvel: AVX #1 this June — but make sure to take a look at some of Young’s uncolored pages here first.
