Could Batman Have Defeated Bane With A Superkick?
In the Dark Knight Rises, the third and final entry in Christopher Nolan’s Batman movie trilogy, much like in the comics, Batman’s first encounter with Bane goes very poorly and Bane breaks his spine. But did Batman have the ability to take out Bane with just one move and just conveniently forgot about it?

In Cracked’s list of 5 Characters Who Ignore Powers That Solve All Their Problems, Bruce Wayne has been out of action for years when The Dark Knight Rises starts. He can’t even really walk properly. So, to prepare to get back into action, he develops a brace that basically gives him a kick strong enough to take out a brick wall. This might not have been that effective against the comic book version of Bane, with his Venom serum to augment him, but Bane in The Dark Knight Rises doesn’t have the Venom serum.
But after we see Bruce Wayne decimate that wall with his super leg brace, it’s never mentioned again. Why didn’t Batman use it in his fight against Bane? Well, realistically because the movie would’ve been a lot shorter. Chalk it up to one of those many things writers often put in a movie that would conveniently wrap it up rather nicely & quickly. In fact, check out the list to see 4 other examples at the link provided and let’s hope Batman remembers the next time he has a high tech gadget that can beat one of his most fearsome opponents in about 3 seconds…
