A new motion poster shows Matt Murdock, on the rain-slicked streets of Hell’s Kitchen, walking towards us with a sinister narration. However, viewers may not want to concentrate on Murdock too much. The really interesting visuals are seen in the reflection on the street and far off in the background — Daredevil’s future red suit and Avengers Tower, respectively.
Ever since the debut of the first visuals of the Man Without Fear, fans have been worried that they may not see our hero in his signature garb and horns — with the series committing only to the Frank Miller-designed black outfit. Well, like Murdock’s nickname, we shouldn’t fear that idea because this teaser certainly alludes to his inevitable wardrobe change.
Netflix’s Daredevil is being executive produced by series showrunner Steven S. DeKnight, Drew Goddard, and Jeph Loeb, and will star Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock / Daredevil, Elden Henson as Franklin “Foggie” Nelson, Vincent D’Onofrio as Wilson Fisk / The Kingpin, Deborah Ann Woll as Karen Page, Rosario Dawson as Claire Temple, and Ayelet Zurer as Vanessa Marianna.
Daredevil will be one of four Marvel/Netflix shows centered around events taking place in Hell’s Kitchen. The other three will be Luke Cage (with Mike Colter recently announced to be in the title role), Iron Fist, and Jessica Jones (with Krysten Ritter recently announced to be in the title role). Like the cinematic universe, all four characters from each show will later converge together in a miniseries event called The Defenders — another superhero team akin to The Avengers.
Daredevil is set to premiere on Netflix on Friday, April 10, 2015.
