Wizard World Comic Con Albuquerque Added June 19-21
By Nick Tylwalk
Wizard World is getting creative in expanding its schedule of events for 2015. In addition to simply running shows in brand new cities, the company has taken over management of a pre-existing show in Pittsburgh, and now it’s doing something similar in New Mexico.

Wizard World Comic Con Albuquerque was announced today, and will take place June 19-21 at the Albuquerque Convention Center. Naming rights to the show were acquired from Greg Derrick, who previously organized it as the Albuquerque Comic Expo.
“I am excited Wizard World can continue the tradition of our show,” Derrick said in a press release. “This is a great way for our loyal attendees in the Albuquerque area to celebrate their fandom.”
The con already has its own page on the Wizard World website, though guest and ticket info will be announced over the next few weeks.
“Albuquerque has a vibrant, enthusiastic fan base that we believe will be excited to see us build on what Greg and his team have established,” Wizard World CEO John Macaluso said in a press release. “It is an area we have targeted for some time and we will get to work right away to make Wizard World Comic Con Albuquerque a great experience for fans, celebrities, artists and vendors.”
Interestingly, Wizard World Comic Con Albuquerque will take place on the same weekend as another Wizard World show in Sacramento, the first and only time that occurs on the company’s 2015 calendar — at least for now.
