First Look: The Female Thor’s Identity Revealed In Thor #8

Who is Thor? That’s not a question we’ve had to ponder very often because we already knew the answer. He’s the God of Thunder, prince of Asgard and son of Odin.

Except he hasn’t been any of those things during the current Thor series, as Mjolnir has passed into the hands of a worthy female. If you’ve been reading the book, you know that Jason Aaron and Russell Dauterman have done a great job keeping the mystery of her identity interesting while not making it the sole focus.
But the time for the answer to the big question is about to arrive in Thor #8. During the final battle with the Destroyer, Odinson called in his list of potential candidates to aid the new Thor, meaning we can probably eliminate all of them as the current Goddess of Thunder. Still, there are bound to be a few twists and turns along the way to seeing just who exactly is under that helmet.
Indeed, Marvel is promising a “surprising return” as well as “a last page that will send shockwaves through the Marvel Universe.” Sounds like fun, no? We’ll have to wait until May 13 to have Thor #8 in our hands, but you can simply keep scrolling down to see a few pages of Dauterman’s work. Expect this to be the most thunderous issue to date, which is unusually appropriate for this title.
