At Least 3 Issues Of All-New Hawkeye Will Be Out Before The Final Issue Of Hawkeye

After they teamed on the excellent The Immortal Iron Fist (along with Ed Brubaker) and created magic on Hawkeye, I’d read just about anything done by Matt Fraction and David Aja. It’s just tough to do when their books keep getting pushed back, which is the case with Hawkeye #22.

You might have noticed that All-New Hawkeye, which is pretty awesome in its own, completely different way, is already off and running under the creative team of Jeff Lemire and Ramon Perez. It’s a good thing Marvel didn’t wait to let that series start, or it would have been well into the summer before we got to read it. Why? Well, i09 is reporting that Hawkeye #22, already way past its original due date of February, won’t hit shelves now until June 10. Just for reference, at least three issues of All-New Hawkeye will be out by that point.

Fortunately, there don’t seem to be too many connective tissues between the two books that would qualify as spoilers, except that both Clint Barton and Kate Bishop must survive whatever titanic final battle takes place to end the Hawkeye series. I’m not going to act like I won’t happily snap it up whenever the final issue, but if it doesn’t actually come out this summer, it’s going to take its place among the most legendary delayed issues of all time.

The really awesome part is that Marvel is never going to say anything about the long delay, so we’ll only know what happened if Fraction or Aja decide to say something. Keep your eyes peeled on social media, I guess.
