Is the new Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice trailer too dark for your liking? Bobby Burns has what you need.

Specifically, he’s recut the first Dawn of Justice teaser with footage of the late Christopher Reeve as Superman and Adam West as Batman (plus Burt Ward as Robin, a character nobody expects to see in the upcoming film). The music and dialogue are all identical to the real trailer, but all of the clips are spliced in from the various Superman movies and the Batman TV show from the 60s.
While the tone of the latter would seem particularly ill-suited for a mash-up like this, Burns does a tremendous job finding images that seem serious if you don’t think about them too hard. Witness Batman trying to dispose of a giant bomb, or West and Ward running directly at the camera, for that matter. The whole thing ends in the best possible way, with the old school Superman graphics joined by the 60s Batman logo and the first notes of the iconic TV theme.
Whether you loved the actual Batman v Superman trailer or not, I almost guarantee that watching this one will bring a smile to your face, especially if you stick around all the way until the end.
