Warner Bros. Head Defends Batman v Superman Tone
So the Batman v Superman trailer is pretty dark for a comic book film. And nothing is wrong with a darker universe of comic boo movies necessarily, but some (including myself) think the trailer laid on the darkness way too thickly. president of Warner Bros. Pictures, Greg Silverman talked with The Hollywood Reporter about various things including the Batman v Superman trailer & how they are going to differentiate themselves from Marvel.

On how they’ll be different from Marvel:
"We have a great strategy for the DC films, which is to take these beloved characters and put them in the hands of master filmmakers and make sure they all coordinate with each other. You’ll see the difference when you see Batman v. Superman, Suicide Squad, Justice League and all the things that we are working on."
On the tone of Batman v Superman:
"There is intensity and a seriousness of purpose to some of these characters. The filmmakers who are tackling these properties are making great movies about superheroes; they aren’t making superhero movies. And when you are trying to make a good movie, you tackle interesting philosophies and character development. There’s also humor, which is an important part."
This actually relieves me a bit. The fact that Silverman emphasizes that humor is an important element is a good sign and a direct contradiction to that rumor of a “no jokes” edict at Warner Bros. Batman v Superman opens in theaters March 25th, 2016.
