Nick Fury Put On Hiatus?
By Steve Lam
While speaking to IGN about his newest movie, Big Game, Samuel L. Jackson revealed that he won’t be in the upcoming Captain America: Civil War. A move which completely blindsided the actor:
"I was surprised I wasn’t in Civil War, because the Russo Brothers told me I was … I don’t know what’s going on."
Jackson still has two more Marvel films left in his contract so the studio may be milking the process. However, Jackson himself doesn’t even know which two movies he’ll actually be in.

It’ll be interesting to see how Marvel Studios will pull off the Civil War storyline without Nick Fury — as he was an important player. Though the current synopsis for Captain America: Civil War aligns pretty well with the original comics series, the film is still a year away. This year’s Marvel Cinematic Universe blockbuster Avengers: Age of Ultron had the same title as the comics series, but the storyline deviated dramatically from its source material. So it’s still a guess as to how faithful the MCU will be to the Civil War that was told in Marvel Comics’ seven-issue limited run which lasted from July 2006 to January 2007.
Captain America: Civil War will pick up right after the events of Avengers: Age of Ultron. With a new team of Avengers, Steve Rogers must lead the handling of an international incident which results in collateral damage.
Set to be released in the United States on May 6, 2016, Captain America: Civil War will be directed by Anthony and Joe Russo, from a screenplay by Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely, and star Chris Evans as Steve Rogers / Captain America, Robert Downey, Jr. as Tony Stark / Iron Man, Scarlett Johansson as Natasha Romanoff / Black Widow, Sebastian Stan as James Buchanan “Bucky” Barnes / Winter Soldier, Anthony Mackie as Sam Wilson / Falcon, Paul Bettany as Vision, Jeremy Renner as Clint Barton / Hawkeye, Don Cheadle as James “Rhodey” Rhodes / War Machine, Elizabeth Olsen as Wanda Maximoff / Scarlet Witch, Paul Rudd as Scott Lang / Ant-Man, Emily VanCamp as Sharon Carter / Agent 13, Frank Grillo as Brock Rumlow / Crossbones, William Hurt as General Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross, Chadwick Boseman as T’Challa / Black Panther, Daniel Brühl as Baron Helmut Zemo, and Martin Freeman in an unspecified role.
