Will Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine Appear In Deadpool Movie?

Hugh Jackman’s time as Wolverine is coming to an end. Once he completes the third solo movie for everyone’s favorite Canadian X-Men member, that’s it. Still, that doesn’t mean he couldn’t pop the claws in-between now and 2017, and since Deadpool first came to the big screen in the forgettable X-Men Origins: Wolverine, it would make for a nice bookend of sorts if Logan made an appearance in the Deadpool flick due next year.

So is it happening? Officially, no. You won’t find Jackman’s page listed among the cast on the movie’s IMDB page.

That doesn’t mean there couldn’t be a cameo for Wolverine, though, which is exactly what the Huffington Post asked Jackman about. His answer was … let’s call it non-committal (supposedly while smiling).

"Hmmm, I can’t … no. Nope. But, I am really good mates with [Reynolds] so …"

No categorical denial there. There’s also X-Men: Apocalypse which is due out next spring. Like Deadpool, it has no official participation from Wolverine, but considering it’s the third movie in a trilogy that began with X-Men: First Class and featured Jackman in a pretty critical role in its middle chapter, it would probably be more surprising if he didn’t show up there than if it did.

Normally, this would be where I’d say that we’ll have to wait until the movies actually hit theaters to know for sure, but given the way Fox needs all the publicity it can drum up for its mutant super hero movies, I could see Wolverine appearances in either Deadpool or X-Men: Apocalypse confirmed before the end of the year. Hopefully Jackman isn’t burnt out on Wolvie just yet.
