In a follow up to yesterday’s story about Spider-Man voice actor Drake Bell causing offense on Twitter by posting “Sorry…. still calling you Bruce” in regards to Bruce Jenner’s brave decision to unveil his new identification as a woman extremely publically. At the time the actor came under fire and deleted the tweet, however he unapologetically followed up with several more tweets saying
"I’m not dissing him! I just don’t want to forget his legacy! He is the greatest athlete of all time! Chill out!— Drake Bell (@DrakeBell) June 1, 2015"
When people pointed out that Drake could still honour the legacy of Bruce Jenner’s athletic career and be supportive of Caitlyn Jenner in what is a huge step for her life and that his initial tweet was actually quite offensive and transphobic he seemed to realise the error of his ways and released two more tweets apologising for his thoughtless comments.
