Spider-Man: Kevin Feige Teases New Villains For Upcoming Movie
By Nick Tylwalk
Sorry Green Goblin, but it doesn’t appear your services will be required for the upcoming Sony/Marvel Spider-Man reboot flick. While we’re at it, we might as well tell Doctor Octopus, Venom, Sandman, Lizard, Electro and Rhino not to get their hopes up either.

Based on an interview Marvel Stuidos head Kevin Feige recently game Devin Faraci of Birth Movies Death. When talking about who Spidey might face off against in his upcoming solo movie, which will star Tom Holland and be directed by Jon Watts, Feige gave a pretty direct answer when discussing how big the hero’s rogues gallery has become over the years.
"That’s the advantage. Right now we’re interested in seeing villains we haven’t seen before."
If he’s being literal, we can rule out seeing all of the villains I listed above, as they turned up in either the Tobey Maguire or Andrew Garfield Sony Spider-Man films. That’s not to say that we couldn’t see them down the road — the Goblin and Doc Ock, in particular, are so inherently intertwined in the Spider-Man mythos that they almost have to show up if this new movie series proves popular — but it does sounds like we can expect someone fresh to challenge the wall-crawler the next time he has his own solo outing.
Now the obvious question is who. Faraci mentions three classic in Vulture, Kraven and Mysterio, all of whom would make excellent additions to the movies (except maybe the original Vulture, who’s a pretty old guy). Which Spider-Man villain would you like to see get a turn in the spotlight? Hit us with a comment below or nominate a bad guy on Twitter.
