Cara Delevingne Thinks Most Superhero Films Are Sexist

Though she’s in an upcoming comic book movie, Cara Delevingne, who plays the Enchantress in the upcoming Suicide Squad movie is not a fan of how she thinks women have been portrayed in comic book films.

"There are only three girls in [Suicide Squad] but in my opinion they have the best roles. Generally though, superhero movies are totally sexist. Female superheroes are normally naked or in bikinis. No one would be able to fight like that. Wonder Woman, how the hell does she fight? She would be dead in a minute."

While I agree that superhero movies of recent note could be considered sexist for constantly having damsels in distress and nowhere near the amount of female heroes to their male counterparts, Cara Develingne’s statements sounds like someone who hasn’t actually seen a superhero movie in a long time. Nobody’s naked or in a bikini. Wonder Woman has battle armor in the upcoming Batman v. Superman films. Will Suicide Squad be sexist in it’s portrayal of Harley Quinn or Enchantress for that matter, reducing them to mere sexpots? I certainly hope not…
