Batman v Superman: All About The Big Throwdown

facebooktwitterreddit

While it’s most likely not the climatic battle, the throwdown between the Caped Crusader & the Man of Steel is obviously the big selling point of Batman v Superman (I mean c’mon, it’s in the title). But how exactly does it go down? Well we’ve got some details of that for you.

The big Entertainment Weekly issue featuring Batman, Superman & Wonder Woman on the cover has descriptions of several scenes in Batman v Superman, almost all of which revolve around the big fight between the two heroes in some form.

One scene is described Bruce Wayne and his loyal servant Alfred preparing for the fight while intoning their lines in a burnt out fireplace (because apparently Wayne Manor has fallen into disarray). Wayne is described in this scene as weary, but determined.

Batman v Superman director Zack Snyder showed an early version of a rooftop battle sequence between the two heroes, and it’s described as thrilling to watch and that they throw each other throw walls and skylights.

And Snyder talks about about one other scene where Alfred is skeptical of Batman’s motivations for the fight, as Batman claims taking down Superman is basically the only way to guarantee he won’t turn on humanity someday.

This actually sounds like a far cry from the Batman of the Nolan trilogy, who believed in the goodness of others. But this is also an obviously older and more world-weary Batman. Will something happen in Batman v Superman to restore the Caped Crusader’s faith in doing good? We’ll find out when Batman v Superman opens March 25th.
