Deadpool: Close-Up Look At Costume
By Steve Lam
In celebration of Comic-Con, Entertainment Weekly has been rolling out some special covers for fans. The latest one is a close-up look at Deadpool. This is the best headshot — if Deadpool was here, I just totally set myself up for a joke — of the Merc with a Mouth.
The details of the suit are pretty amazing. The textures and material make this one of the best costume translations from comics to live-action. I’m giving Deadpool a thumbs-up right back for an excellent look. The costume department really pulled it off here.
The film wrapped up shooting back in late May and is probably well into post-production. From now until the movie’s release date, fans can expect 20th Century Fox’s promotion engine to be at full power for this blockbuster.
Deadpool will be directed by Blur Films visual effects veteran Tim Miller, written by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, and produced by Lauren Shuler Donner and X-Men: Days of Future Past screenwriter Simon Kinberg. The cast includes Ryan Reynolds as Wade Wilson / Deadpool, Gina Carano as Angel Dust, T.J. Miller as Weasel, Ed Skrein as Ridge, Morena Baccarin as Copycat, aka Vanessa Carlysle, and Brianna Hildebrand as Negasonic Teenage Warhead. Production on the film started in March with a target release date of February 12, 2016.
