Ant-Man: Scott Lang Shows Off His Skills In New Extended Clip
By Steve Lam
Marvel Studios has released an extended clip showing Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) doing what he does best — breaking into things and “stealing some stuff.” As the audience can see, the man’s got skills and some primo knowledge on safes. The dialogue is humorous and has some fun pop culture references. It also does a great job showing Lang’s coolness under pressure and the dynamic between him and his cronies.
SPOILER WARNING: May contain some key plot points
It’s most likely that this scene occurs after Scott Lang has been released from prison and is drawn back into his past criminal ways. From the trailers and TV spots, this faltering in Lang’s straight and narrow path may be due to making sure that he can provide financial assistance to his young daughter — always a compelling reason.
Set to release in the United States on July 17, 2015, Ant-Man will close out Phase Two of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
The film is being directed by Peyton Reed, written by Gabriel Ferrari, Andrew Barrer, and Adam McKay, and starring Paul Rudd as Scott Lang / Ant-Man, Evangeline Lilly as Hope Van Dyne, Corey Stoll as Darren Cross / Yellowjacket, Bobby Cannavale as Paxton, Michael Peña as Luis, Judy Greer as Maggie, Tip “T.I.” Harris as Dave, David Dastmalchian as Kurt, Wood Harris as Gale, Jordi Mollà as Castillo, and Michael Douglas as Dr. Hank Pym / Ant-Man.
