Rumor: Rachel McAdams Going From True Detective To Doctor Strange?
By Nick Tylwalk
Rachel McAdams currently has a high profile gig as one of the primary cast members of Season 2 of HBO’s True Detective, but she could have another big movie role awaiting her as well.

Ace super movie scooper Umberto Gonzalez is on the case again, taking to Heroic Hollywood to cite sources reporting that McAdams has been offered the female lead in Doctor Strange. If true, the 36-year-old Canadian would join a powerhouse cast that already features Benedict Cumberbatch in the title role and Chiwetel Ejiofor as Baron Mordo while reportedly eyeing Tilda Swinton for a part as well.
The big question then would become what character would be considered the female lead, as Doctor Strange’s world has always been filled with mostly male characters. The exception would be Clea, a pupil turned love interest for Strange. If the movie really isn’t a straight origin story, as Marvel has hinted at more than once, there would seem to be more room for Clea to be prominently involved.
In any case, given Gonzalez’s track record, any casting rumor he unearths is worth keeping on your radar. Directed by Scott Derrickson, Doctor Strange is set to join Phase Three of the Marvel Cinematic Universe on November 4, 2016.
