Two Great Quippers Together This Fall in Spider-Man/Deadpool #1
By Nick Tylwalk
Well now this is going to be interesting. What happens when you get your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man and the Merc With a Mouth together in one series? One-liners, for sure. Chaos, certainly. Other than that, I have no idea, except that it’s almost guaranteed to be a good time.

Okay, we know a little bit more about Spider-Man/Deadpool #1. For instance, we know it’s going to be written by Joe Kelly, with covers and interior art by the great Ed McGuinness. Beyond that? It’s probably better just to let Kelly explain it.
“I will say that there is an assassination involved, a case of misplaced trust and their names are on the book so they sort of have to show up,” Kelly said while speaking with Marvel.com. “Seriously, I’m having a blast writing the banter. It’s your favorite buddy-cop movie on steroids if it was written by a swill-minded teenager.”
Nice. So kind of like your classic super hero “fight based on misunderstanding before teaming up against the real enemy,” except with a modern sensibility and a whole lot more jokes. I can dig that.
Marvel also is hinting that the two heroes might not agree on what to call the book, but I don’t think they have much say in the matter. Look for Spider-Man/Deadpool #1 this fall, and we’ll certainly have a sneak peek at it before then.
