Jamie Alexander Says Sif Is Definitely In Thor: Ragnarok
By Nick Tylwalk
If Thor: Ragnarok really deals with a threat to the existence of Asgard and its people like its title suggests, it should be an “all hands on deck” affair. That means the realm’s foremost warrior woman, Lady Sif, would definitely be needed.

MTV recently asked Jamie Alexander, the human who brings Sif to life, if she’d be returning to the role even though she’s about to be the lead in the new NBC series Blindspot (which, by the way, was getting some heavy promotion during Comic-Con last week in San Diego). Alexander first responded that, “You’ll definitely see Sif again, that’s for sure.” When asked the obvious follow-up wondering if that meant Thor: Ragnarok, she simply said, “Yes.”
Other than Alexander’s complete unavailability, there’s no reason to think she wouldn’t be in the third Thor movie given that she’s made as many appearances in the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Thor himself. Along with the first two Thor flicks, we saw Sif guest star in episodes from both seasons of Agents of SHIELD. By my count, that ties Sif with Thor (two Avengers movies and two of his own) 4-4.
Of course, Marvel has replaced Asgardians before, with Zachary Levi tagging in for Joshua Dallas to portray Fandral in Thor: The Dark World. My guess would be a lot more people would notice if someone other than Alexander was kicking butt as Sif, so it’s hard to see that happening.
Sif’s sword won’t be needed until next summer in any case, as that’s when Thor: Ragnarok is expected to start shooting in preparation for its November 3, 2017 release.
