Captain America: Civil War To Be Featured At Disney’s D23 Expo

When Captain America: Civil War didn’t have a presence of any kind at San Diego Comic-Con this year (or Marvel Studios at all, for that matter), the assumptions that surrounded it came in two parts. The first was that since it only started shooting in April, there simply wasn’t much to show to the public just yet. And the second part was that Disney had its own showcase where it could put a spotlight on Civil War without competition from all kinds of projects from other studios.

The showcase in question is the D23 Expo, a show devoted to all things Disney, and as The Hollywood Reporter confirmed, Captain America: Civil War will be a part of that event. D23 will be held from August 14-16 at the Anaheim Convention Center, and along with the next Marvel film, will also boast highly anticipated updates on Star Wars: The Force Awakens, the Alice in Wonderland sequel and much, much more.

In regards to Civil War, though, the date to circle on your calendar is Saturday, August 15. That morning, the “Worlds, Galaxies, and Universes: Live Action at The Walt Disney Studios” panel will be held in Hall D23 at 10:30 am, with Disney offering the following description:

"Disney, Marvel and Lucasfilm are home to some of the planet’s best storytellers, immersing audiences fully in the world of each film from beginning to end and beyond. In this exclusive Hall D23 presentation, join Walt Disney Studios Chairman Alan Horn for a tour of upcoming live-action projects from these legendary film studios. A bevy of special guests will be on hand to offer a look at an unparalleled slate that includes Alice Through the Looking Glass, The Jungle Book, Marvel’s Captain America: Civil War, Star Wars: The Force Awakens—and much, much more."

Yep, Marvel and Star Wars in one panel. I’m thinking that one will be popular.

As far as “special guests” go, appearances by Chris Evans and Robert Downey Jr. would certainly tear the roof off, but bringing in any of the cast members would likely kick the hype train into a higher gear.
