Color Your Own Deadpool Is Exactly What It Sounds Like
By Nick Tylwalk
In case you missed the memo, Marvel got the really cool idea to do adult coloring books featuring some of its most popular characters and stories. The line kicks off with an Age of Ultron coloring book in October, which is all well and good, but we’re here to talk about something a little more fun that that. It’s Color Your Own Deadpool, and it’s exactly what it sounds like.

Seriously, which Marvel hero is more appropriate for an adult coloring book than Deadpool? He’d certainly get a kick out of the idea if he knew it was happening — and since Deadpool has been known to break the fourth wall on occasion, you can’t rule out that possibility — though he might critique your work. I mean, you can give Deadpool any color scheme you want, but if the Merc With a Mouth doesn’t like it, you can be pretty sure you’re going to hear about it.
And for those of you wondering what Color Your Own Deadpool is all about, here’s an explanation from Marvel:
"Called therapeutic and stress relieving by the New Yorker, Adult Coloring Books are the perfect way to unwind after a long day. And what could be more stress relieving than sitting down for a night of coloring with Deadpool? We can’t think of anything! Jam packed with 120 pages of Deadpool goodness, fans of all ages can be part of the creative process as they bring to life artwork from some of Marvel’s biggest artists! Now is your chance to color inside the lines – or not! What color will you make Deadpool? Red is so last season, after all."
See, that’s practically begging you to change Deadpool’s color scheme! I wonder what he’d look like in Denver Nuggets’ light blue and yellow …
Early next year, we won’t have to speculate about that. Color Your Own Deadpool is on the way in January 2016, wherever fine adult coloring books are sold.
