DC Movies Spritual Successors To The Nolan Trilogy
The Marvel vs, DC debate rages on! Batman v Superman producer Deborah Snyder is the latest to compare the two, and while she is more complimentary of Marvel than most, she still stresses the whole “DC is more grounded/realistc” thing.

I can see how people would want to make it this big, intense rivalry. Listen, they are so great. I loved Guardians of the Galaxy…our films are a bit more serious. They deal with things that are a little darker. Things that place them in our world.
Snyder also says the world of DC movies is at least a spiritual successor to the seminal Christopher Nolan Batman movies:
"We live in gratitude to those movies. Chris set a tone for the DC Universe, and separated us from Marvel in a great way. We are the legacy pf those movies."
I have one problem with that. While the Nolan movies were certainly darker and more realistic than what we’ve seen from Marvel, Batman was still someone who believed in the good of people. The Batman that I’ve seen so far in Batman v Superman wouldn’t believe in the good of the citizens of Gotham to not blow each other up on a boat for example. Maybe that changes with the years, but I still think a Batman inspired by that universe wouldn’t be as beat down as the one in Batman v Superman. But maybe the film is all about Batman regaining his belief in good, which could certainly be a redeeming feature.
